KEYBOX
[This is work in progress!]
Keybox as a command-line utility for managing passphrases and other login information. All usernames, passphrases and other information are encrypted with one master passphrase, which is the only one you need to remember.
First we need to create a new keybox database:
$ keybox create
Enter New Master Passphrase: <enter passphrase here>
Repeat New Master Passphrase: <repeat passphrase to verify>
'Create' will create a new keybox in your home directory called .keybox.
Next we add two new records:
$ keybox add
Master Passphrase: <enter passphrase here>
Title (""): internet bank
Group (""): banking
Username (""): jonas
New Passphrase: <enter a passphrase>
Repeat New Passphrase: <repeat it>
Notes (""): <press enter to skip>
URL (""): <press enter to skip>
$ keybox add
Master Passphrase: <enter passphrase here>
Title (""): webmail
Group (""): mail
Username (""): jonas
New Passphrase: <enter a passphrase>
Repeat New Passphrase: <repeat it>
Notes (""): webmail at work
URL (""): <press enter to skip>
To list what we have in the keybox we use the 'list' command:
$ keybox list
Master Passphrase: <enter passphrase here>
id title username group
-- ----- -------- -----
1 internet bank jonas banking
2 webmail jonas mail
